Portrait Photographer in Madrid
Hello, I’m Lorena, a photographer and architect. Although I spent several years designing houses, buildings, hotels, and hospitals, my passion for photography led me to fully dedicate myself to it. I’ve worked in magazines for 15 years, carried out advertising campaigns, and participated in major art exhibitions in museums, earning awards and recognitions. So, I can confidently say that my life revolves around a camera, a lens, and my eye pressed against it—if I may put it simply.
But being a portrait photographer, or more generally just a photographer, goes far beyond just clicking the shutter. Being a photographer means having a cultivated sense of taste, recognizing beauty in many places, even if they aren’t pristine or open spaces—and here’s where my background as an architect comes in. Beauty is everywhere, in a well-combined set of styles or even in the simplicity of a line. It’s all about searching and searching with an eye trained to find what others might overlook.
Family Portrait Photography.
The best part about photographing entire families is the moment itself—being part of that small, fleeting story during the session, guiding them, and creating moments that wouldn’t surface otherwise, let alone be captured in a photograph. Achieving this is undoubtedly the greatest reward a professional can receive. And when you add the family’s joy and astonishment—well, the photographer’s job is done.
Maternity photography, just like any other session, can be approached in many ways, whether it’s in a studio or even in the expectant mother’s own home. In these photos, the key is to capture a beautiful connection between the baby bump and the mother 🙂
For me, the sensuality of a woman is incredibly important, and I always aim to reflect that in all of my photographs, even during pregnancy.
Outdoor portrait photography has a unique, informal aesthetic. It evokes a sense of freedom and allows for more flexibility in clothing, poses, and relaxed attitudes.
Due to its proximity to my studio, I often use locations like Retiro Park, the Recoletos and Serrano neighborhoods, and the area around the Prado Museum as my primary backdrops. I’m drawn to environments rich in nature and architecture steeped in history. However, I can easily move to any other location that serves as a fitting backdrop for my photographs.
Children’s portrait photography plays a key role within family photography and has always held a special place in my work, from traditional family photo sessions to creating modeling portfolios for these little ones as they begin their professional journey at an early age.
I’ve worked with children and teenagers in both private sessions and advertising campaigns of all kinds, helping them bring out their best, just like an adult, while providing the specific care and attention required for young individuals.
